Deep Sea Glow

This artwork was less about a story and more about just following the colours.

Started with the blues; deep, moving, layered on with bold, confident strokes. Then intuition took over and in came the greens, and a bit of salmon here and there, just because it felt right in the moment.

Just paint, brush, colour, repeat and just trusting the process and letting it lead.

And somewhere in all that movement, it started to feel like something underwater. Deep, glowing, a little bit magical.

Sometimes the simplest process makes the most striking pieces.

Hi, we’re Rich & Heidi — the duo behind boop.by them.

We’re self-taught abstract artists based in Brisbane, creating side by side as one piece. What started as something we did for fun turned into something we couldn’t ignore… so we quit our jobs and went all in.

Our work is built around big colour, bold feeling. We’re not here to make quiet art or follow rules, we’re here to make pieces that feel good, look good, and actually say something (even if we don’t overthink what that is).

A lot of what we create comes from real-life moments. Nothing overly planned, nothing too serious. Just instinct, energy, and a shared love of making something together.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take what we’re building seriously. This is our full-time thing now and we’re all in.
