Artwork Description

Self portrait, working too hard against myself. I pull on a rope which winds back around through a complex series of pulleys, and is tied to my waist. The harder I work, the less I succeed.
I guess it's about no realising when you are trying too hard and not letting go, relaxing and going with the flow.

Artist Bio

Richard Baxter has been painting and exhibiting for 44 years, showing in galleries around Australia.
He currently runs a studio in Castlemaine.
Past exhibitions and prizes are not important to the value of art, and if they are, you are not buying art you are buying prestige.
I only sell art.
