Artwork Description

A self portrait, I contemplate existence, focusing on a solitary star. The title comes from a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, and the line is "What is this unseen flame of darkness, whose sparks are the stars?" It wonders on what power created the universe.
No answers are here, just space, silence, and contemplation. A small flower amidst the rocks, represents that ongoing life force.
The style is just a synthesis of my love of all renaissance and classical work.
