Artwork Description

Colour and form tell the story. Muted tones convey the tango's origin in dimly lit bars. The colours heat as the dance progresses, speaking of the passion that sits so deeply in the very heart of the dance. The figures are basic yet suggest the arousal of the dancers as they head towards the finale.

I am always seeking to present movement in the simplest of ways. The tango fitted that ideal perfectly. Immense power from something quite simple.

Artist Bio

I have doodled and sketched for as long as I can remember, but have no formal training. Nearly 15 years ago we quit the rat race and left Sydney to see a bit more Australia. I took some paints with me and did some really bad paintings as we travelled.
I started in acrylic as this seemed the least messy option, for using in a caravan! Over the past few years, and as I age, life seems simpler, and the abstract style of painting suits me down to the ground
It’s all about shapes and colours for me, and the simpler the better. I like to strip things back to the point where it can mean many things to many different people.
Let’s get our imagination reinvigorated, use it like we did before we were told we had to grow up.
