Artwork Description

At the beach - in the blazing sun - several seagulls are present - as a wave creates a massive splash off the rocks

Artist Bio

I produce Paintings in acrylics in various styles – Abstracts, Impressionist, Naïve Style, Realistic Murals, and Scenes of Europe. Native Australian Birds and Marsupials are a favorite of mine.
Drawn to the arts since childhood, throughout my life I have involved myself in one form of art or another. Being born in the wilds of Papua New Guinea in the mid-1950s gave me a vibrant sense of colour and natural form.
During the 1990s I owned & operated a specialised Art Studio in Woolloongabba, Brisbane– where I produced Custom Made Slump Glass & Wrought-Iron Chandeliers and Wall Lights.
Later in the 2000s I studied a Master’s Degree in Illumination Design at QUT and went on to create many spectacular Public Light as Art projects around Australia.
I was awarded many times for my spectacular lighting installations - and the ultimate was receiving the International Award of Excellence for Lighting Design (commendation) for my design of the lighting in the QPAC Concert Hall at Southbank in Brisbane.
My creative installations of lighting are all over south east Australia, and a few overseas as well.
When I moved to "semi-retirement" in 2023 – I discovered that I could paint!
My first piece was a large scene of the Venetian Canal Rio Dela Fava - which to this day hangs in the entry of my home.
My new phase is now Fine Art paintings in acrylics - and I produce a variety of styles - including - Scenes of Lily Ponds, Portraits of Iconic Australian Birds, Scenes of the Beach in Stylised Realism, Abstracts of many types.
