Rikki Day, an emerging Australian female artist, creates artworks that are most renowned for retelling the stories we don't want to forget and indulging her viewers with a flooding nostalgia of life's best moments. From her beachside studio in the Northern Rivers, Rikki creates works that convey a tranquil, refined and elegant aesthetic. Rikki aims for her works to transcend merely a visual experience but also offer a momentary meditative reflection and a place for the viewer to pause. If the viewer, in such a fast paced world is offered a moment of rest, ease and stillness to stop and enjoy her work, Rikki is happy. A sense of calm is important to Rikki and she hopes to share this with her collectors. Rikki is most renowned for her modern continuous line artworks however has recently also been drawn toward practicing moody still life acrylics and fine art photography. Rikki Believes being an artist has less to do with what you create and more to do with how you see the world and so has intentionally introduced new mediums and techniques yet throughout all of her work a calming theme of tranquility, place of paradise and mostly a soft appreciation for the every day beautiful moments are what connects all of the work. In terms of subject, Rikki paints what she notices in the world as beautiful be that a vibrant table scape of people sharing a meal and laughing or getting lost in conversation or even a striking flower, palm tree or fruit bowl. Rikki wants to share the things she notices as beautiful and hopes it connects with others and encourages them to pause long enough to appreciate the beauty in our surroundings too. Growing up by the sea and being raised in a surfing family Rikki adores the ocean and there is a large coastal influence in Rikki's work. Any beach house across the globe would do well with a piece of Rikki's work.
Each piece is a testament to the transformative power of gratitude and self-reflection, allowing viewers to connect deeply with their own histories and emotions, bringing a sense of nostalgia forward in time to enjoy early.
Her distinctive style has captured the attention of prominent industry leaders, including The Design Files, Three Birds Renovations, Penfolds, Fenton & Fenton, En Gold, and Bed Threads, among others. Rikki’s works have been featured in numerous Magazines and publications and are revered in private collections across the globe, from the vibrant cities of New York, London, and Spain to the serene landscapes of Norway, New Zealand, Germany, and Belize.
