Hi, my name is Rinat Zaripov. I am an architect by education, an award-winning interior designer by profession, and an artist at heart.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by drawing people—their movements, emotions, and aesthetics. This passion became an integral part of my creative journey. The skill of quick sketching and the ability to instantly capture the essence of a subject directly enhance my primary work, allowing me to immediately grasp the core of a design task, effortlessly generate creative ideas, and construct well-thought-out spatial scenarios.
I graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Repin Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, receiving the Repin Medal for outstanding achievements in drawing. Years of studying anatomical drawing gave me a deep understanding of human proportions and body structure.
I don’t simply capture the figure but reinterpret it, shaping it into my own personal aesthetic—one that I have absorbed from films, travels, museums, and books.
I work with high-quality materials: professional paper, soft pastels in deep shades, and elite pencils that create expressive, contrasting lines. While form and composition are crucial, the way the material interacts with the surface is equally important, bringing a sense of living energy to the artwork.
Regularly organizing life drawing sessions helps me stay in a creative flow, evolve, and explore new forms of expression. This process keeps my practice continuous and active.
My artworks are part of private collections and museums worldwide, and perhaps one could soon find a place in yours. Open to collaborations and private commissions.
