Artwork Description

Take a breath, slow down, and savor the moment with Espresso My Peace, an original oil painting from my Brew and Bird series. This piece features a serene white cockatoo gently holding a warm cup, a symbol of quiet joy and simple rituals.

More than a playful tribute to coffee, this artwork is a reminder to allow ourselves a little me time—to indulge, recharge, and find inner peace in life’s small pleasures. With layered textures and soft, inviting tones, it radiates both warmth and tranquility.

Perfect for coffee lovers, bird enthusiasts, or anyone who values self-care, Espresso My Peace brings a calming presence to your home, kitchen, or café.

Artist Bio

** New to bluethumb art**

Rita Hsu is a Melbourne-based artist known for her evocative oil paintings that quietly celebrate the emotional bond between humans, animals, and the natural world. Born and raised in Taiwan, she grew up surrounded by rich cultural traditions that continue to shape her artistic sensibility. Her journey began with a spontaneous drawing of a sunflower — a small moment that sparked a lifelong love for creating art that speaks without words.

Since moving to Melbourne in 2010, Rita has immersed herself in the city’s creative energy, gradually refining a visual language that blends realism with expressive, impressionistic brushwork. Her subjects — often animals — are captured not just in form, but in feeling. With each stroke, she seeks to reveal their inner spirit, quiet strength, and emotional depth.

Rita primarily works in oils, drawn to their richness, texture, and ability to convey subtle emotion. Recently, she has also been exploring mixed media techniques to add layers of complexity and atmosphere to her work. A passionate learner, she continues to expand her practice by experimenting with new tools, materials, and approaches — always staying curious.

Every painting is personal. It may begin with a fleeting moment in nature, a soulful gaze, or a mood that lingers in her heart — but always, it is a reflection of something meaningful. Her work resonates deeply with collectors, many of whom describe feeling a sense of warmth, calm, or connection through her pieces.

Rita’s recent solo exhibition marked a significant chapter in her journey, offering not just artworks but intimate glimpses into the stories behind them. She continues to paint with care and intention, hoping her art brings beauty, connection, and emotion into the everyday lives of those who welcome it into their homes.
