Artwork Description

Embracing Happiness is a burst of joyful energy, surprising yet welcome.

This was part of a series called Mind Expedition. http://www.ritak.com.au/?gallery=mind-expedition

Like the incessant flow of mental thoughts, images and emotions, I aimed at creating paintings that were fluid, which would illustrate the natural ease of their creation.

The result was emotional responses using multiple layers of lines, characters, symbols, colours and shapes appearing on the canvas, which when combined, created interesting rhythmic and harmonious movement relating to how I would interpret that experience. An all-over fullness of the canvas was constructed to enhance the intensity of the thought or emotion. Each painting links and entwines playfully, similar to the way thoughts can entangle and play off each other.
