As the name suggests, this piece depicts a female portrait in hues of rich blue India ink. Breaking from his tradition style, this piece demonstrates a new direction for Ro of looser lines and the introduction of colour through blue India ink. For the first time in his art practice, charcoal has taken a secondary role in this mixed media approach and is used to bring finer details and hint at loose flowing suggestive lines while the vibrant blue India ink gives shape to the face and delivers a unique background form.
