I recommend only choosing a black or white frame if you have a lot of black or white furniture in your home. In my experience its not the painting that doesn't suit your home - its the frame. The black frame in this image only looks good because there is a lot of other black - otherwise black or white can be very stark. If in doubt go natural timber.
