Artwork Description

A nostalgic look from the days of steam, preserved by enthusiast in Tasmania's West, Mount Lyell No5 is the only remaining loco that operated at the Mount Lyell Mine. Restored and converted to oil fuel it runs from Strahan to Queenstown taking tourist up and over the rugged terrain on rack and pinion line.

I am a self taught landscape photographer from SA, shooting Kodachrome for many years until the digital revolution and photoshop made for a compelling change of medium to digital in the mid 2000s, I also work with textures to create surreal and impressionistic images.

My printing is done on a Epson P906 photo printer up to A2 size, larger sizes are sent to a professional printing lab in Adelaide. Done on high quality photographic papers either Canson Photographique11 or Ilford Galerie with aprox' 2 cm border to allow for matting .
