Artwork Description

Black Orbits" is a striking acrylic and crayon artwork that commands attention with its bold composition. Against a landscape canvas measuring 45cm by 90cm, the focal point is a series of bold black circles, reminiscent of celestial bodies or planets in orbit. These circles create a sense of movement and depth, drawing the viewer into the scene.

Interwoven within the black orbits are shades of reds, ranging from deep crimson to vibrant scarlet, adding intensity and drama to the piece. These reds evoke feelings of passion and energy, contrasting beautifully against the darkness of the black circles.

Amidst the reds, splashes of orange and yellow burst forth, resembling fiery bursts of energy or glowing embers. These warm hues infuse the artwork with a sense of warmth and vitality, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.

In the background, hints of blues emerge, suggesting a vast and expansive landscape against which the orbits unfold. These blues add depth and dimension to the scene, creating a sense of distance and perspective.

Overall, "Black Orbits" is a captivating artwork that invites viewers to explore the interplay between darkness and light, energy and stillness. It is a dynamic representation of celestial bodies in motion, rendered with bold colors and expressive strokes that leave a lasting impression on the observer.

Artist Bio

I had a brief affair with painting as a child, then life got in the way for the next 50 years or so.

With more time on my hands now I'm drawn to abstract art on canvas, fascinated by the colours and how some art can transform a wall, a room or a house.

Colours and shapes seem to come together to stir emotions and I truly never know the end result until I step back.

And there's nothing quite like the happiness of seeing one of my paintings find a new home.

If you have a colour theme in mind and a size, I’d be happy to create something just for you, obligation free. You have to love it to bring it into your space.
