Robert Owen 19 artworks | 1 Sold Follow Contact Robert Robert was born in 1940 in a semi-rural area on the outskirts of Sydney. Growing up, he was always associated with rural life. He draws on his experience in the bush as a rural worker and qualified wool classer, to aid in his paintings. Robert cannot recall even in his early childhood when he did not draw or paint, he was given his first set of oils at the age of 11 or 12 years. He is mainly a self-taught artist and paints the people and happenings of the bush, the old River Red Gums and scenes so common along the rivers of NSW. The love of the bush, its people and rural scenery is evident in his paintings. Robertโs work is in private collections both local and overseas. He now lives and paints on the Central Coast of NSW.
