Robert was born in Croatia and currently living and working in Adelaide.
Being the third generation to be professionally involved in the arts, and so, he has been immersed in the world of art, as he says…: “For as long as I can remember”.
Art is Robert’s bread and butter, as well as passion. Being driven by a life motto, “Nulla dies sine linea”, Robert paints every day, expressing ideas mostly in media of oil on canvas, but to paraphrase Publius Terentius: I am an Artist and I am not repulsed by any Media.
Robert exhibited in Europe, the USA, and Australia with many of his Artworks in both private and public collections. Robert also researches and writes about art. One of his major writings, produced as part of his Master’s Degree thesis, is a published biography of the Artist Vladimir Udatny.
While, “there is nothing to teach, but many things to learn”, Rob is currently involved in Art education.
Robert was always passionate about music and surrounded by it, being a part of a very musical immediate, (and extended family) and played an instrument since early childhood. These were and still are precious experiences, helping him in life and daily job. The need for focus, rigor, persistence, and exercise, but also a reminder to be humble and supportive of passion and talent.
In 2008 Robert founded a Gypsy swing quartet now recognized as a part of Adelaide's world music scene. Since, "Les Gitans Blancs" have been touring and playing interstate and internationally, including Cabaret Fringe festival, Womadelaide, Singapore Kite Festival, mini Melbourne tour, Bastille Day for Alliance Francaise, and many more.
Albums: two CD albums: Macro, in 2013 and Blue Django, in 2019.
