Hi, I'm Roberto Domeneghini, Italian artist currently based in Melbourne.
I grew up in Italy, where art is a dominant component in every city and town. Behind every corner there is a magnificent monument waiting to tell its story. This influenced me to pick up drawing and painting from a very young age.
My art journey continued with a degree in Design in Italy, followed by a successful career in VFX for the movie industry in London and various other locations eventually leading me to Australia. It is here that I fell in love with the exotic colorfull landscapes, the various tonalities of the ocean and the soothing greens of the lush coastline which reignited my passion for painting and have been the source of my artistic inspiration for the past few years.
Painting is what connects me to the world we live in. Help me to explore it and show its emotional beauty to the spectator. A well crafted image or painting has the amazing power to evoke deep emotions and feelings, make you reflect or bring back memories.
As part of this exploration, I deepened my knowledge of art history, theory and techniques, digitally as well as traditionally in the form of watercolours, gouache, acrylics and charcoal.
I studied watercolour in Melbourne, home to one of the best watercolour scenes in the world, and attended classes taught by some of its best watercolour artists such as Zbukvic, Castagnet and Dansey.
Thanks for stopping by!
