Landscape, structure and colour have always been part of my life. As I drive through the countryside, in this case the rural farming areas of Southwestern NSW, I am inspired by the changing patterns and colours of the crops and the tilled paddocks. I like revisiting past country sides, their vastness and their patterns. My memory of the feeling that I had in a place is vital and I find myself revisiting past works, their structure and their composition.
This painting was also a finalist in the inaugural Bendigo Bank Landscape Prize at Harden-Murrumburrah 2022.
