Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
I was interested in the in-between spaces. The negative space between the jars. Like Chi. A warmth that animates the two jars. So I felt that they were like two people familiar to each other. There's a comfort and a trust evident. But that is the artist speaking. The viewer may well interpret this work very differently. I had an exhibition as an artist-in-residence while working at ANU in the Furniture Design Workshop. I was teaching drawing and the exhibition demonstrated how ideas evolve. This is one on many works that referenced 2 jars that I set up and worked from for some time.
The painting is on a stretched canvas that has staples on the side edges so it would be best framed preferably with a box frame so that the painting's edges remain visible.
