This work is about spaces and sounds.
Walking in both bushy and semi-rural-semi-urban areas, such as Mittagong where I live, I hear the breeze, the cracking of dry leaves and twigs underfoot and the muffled, scurrying sounds of small creatures. I hear my own footsteps. Silence is also one of those sounds.
Distant sounds competing with silence is what I experience from the top of the hill behind our house on the foothills of Mount Gibraltar in the Southern Highlands.
