Experimental phases have seen a number of different series. Portraits, creatures, birds, abstract, and a combination of all.
The works reveal a blend of old with new happenings and stories, within abstract landscapes of people, places, nature and life.
The works express feelings, with a soft blend of colours and very strong brushwork.
Robyn paints with oil and acrylic and often combines with a variety of other drawing materials, charcoal and crayon and pencil. For more texture, bare hands help mould the expression. This tactile, labour-intensive process reveals her stories with an element of surprise.
Colour and design flow is paramount in her work, which has instigated some larger abstract works. These are an extension of her strong portrait capability and the need to express more. Whilst abstraction has become paramount, figurative and realistic motives are also very apparent in their formation.
Robyn Kirk was born in country Queensland, now based in Brisbane.
She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, received awards for competition work and she is now represented in corporate and private collections.
