Mystery pea

I saw this striking flower on a walk in the bush and called upon my community of friends and acquaintances who identified it as one of our Native peas, I have yet to narrow it down to the exact type but I also like the idea that it can remain a little elusive to me and mysterious for a while.
This process has given me insight to what it may have been like for the early botanists, experiencing something of the thrill of new discovery.

Robyn is an Artist based in the Southwest region of WA. Primarily working in Oil she depicts Australian Native Botanicals and playfully offsets their realism with a vibrant background bringing an illustrative feel to her work. “My botanicals are a celebration of our native Australian flora and highlight their brightness and distinctive form”.
