I create illustrative, gently narrative paintings inspired by animals, people, and natural elements, often with a subtle sense of the mystical. My work is centred around colour, softness, and quiet detail, inviting a feeling of peace, wonder, and simple delight. Each piece offers a small, open-ended story—something familiar yet slightly otherworldly—designed to bring warmth and light into a space.
My usual process begins with layers of acrylic and mixed media, finished with the luminous gloss of oil paint. This combination reveals depth, texture, and subtle surprises beneath the surface. I’m drawn to the beauty of colour in motion and the way it can calm the thinking mind, offering a space for quiet reflection.
Living rural on the Surf Coast, surrounded by my animals — cattle, sheep, chickens, and my much-loved Corgi — I find constant inspiration in the natural world and its gentle rhythms. My current works in abstract realism and florals are celebrations of life’s simple pleasures: the shimmer of light, the play of colour, and the joy found in everyday beauty.
