Artwork Description

My happy place is always at my pouring table in my studio, a little bit like a science lab really. This is where I experiment and are forever exploring the many diversities of fluid art. The colours and beauty in nature are my inspiration for painting. Budburst was born using these principles. The interaction of the colour palette when poured and maneuvered over the canvas creates cells and lacing and has formed shapes, depth, movement, and texture which hopefully evokes emotion in the viewer and generates a sense of drama, excitement, and intrigue in the artwork.
My inspiration particularly for this artwork stems from my interest in the Japanese culture and its many beautiful philosophies of life. I have tried to capture a little piece of this culture in this piece. I have used shades of pinks red, coral, peach white and black to imitate the components of the beautiful Cherry Blossom Tree. Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit.( Kalalil Gibran)
In my mind I see my artwork not just as art but a journey of self-discovery through the freedom this art form allows.
The energy life and detail in the artwork is far more impactful viewed personally than what can be viewed in an image on a screen
This artwork will look stunning in any interior style setting, The little reading nook in your home perhaps.
This art form is unique as the painting can never be replicated which makes it a one-of-a-kind piece and I have used high quality gallery wrapped canvas and archival varnish which will protect the artwork.

Artist Bio

I push fluid art beyond the pour, beyond the patterns, beyond the expected!
Because fluid art isn't just about what the paint does. It's about what you make it say!

I am an award winning artist. Please see some of my achievements on my profile.
Coming from a family of artists, I have been surrounded by creativity and artistic expression throughout my life, which has significantly shaped my approach to art today. I am sure I was born with paint running through my veins and paintbrush in hand.
I was born in Sydney NSW and have been living on the beautiful Gold Coast in QLD for the last 16years.
I am an independent self-educated artist, across many diverse art forms including acrylic abstract art, Chinese brush painting, alcohol ink painting, bark pictures and over the last 6 years I have been challenging my spirits and exploring the many different facets and techniques of fluid art. My art style is modern contemporary/abstract, sometimes leaning towards impressionism and the techniques I use in this art form , have captured a new edgy perspective from the usual fluid art experience. I mainly use acrylic paints with polymer as a flow medium, although I also love to use alcohol ink as another medium.
As an abstract fluid artist influenced by impressionism, my inspiration and my artistic practice flows from my love of IKIGAI where passion, mission, vocation, and profession converge. My aim is to evoke emotion and provoke thought through vibrant and subtle colours and dynamic forms. The natural beauty of coastal and hinterland landscapes on the Gold Coast further fuels my creativity, allowing me to express my experiences and emotions through my art. I embrace the fluidity of life, allowing each piece to evolve organically, reflecting the beauty of existence and invite viewers to explore the depths of their own IKIGAI.
My artworks are held in private collections throughout Australia and abroad and have also been represented in many galleries across Queensland and NSW and internationally.

The pour is just the beginning!
