"Bad Hair Day" by Rochelle Toomey
This painting was inspired (as nearly always) by starting with a drawing. I sketch from my memory or imagination or it has been influenced by my everday life. A lady is walking her dog in the foul weather and is having a torrid time ... her umbrella has blown inside-out, her dog has decided to sit, and not to mention the hairdo! It was painted wholly in gouache paint on archival paper.
The artist often takes inspiration from architecture, nature and landscapes that take the viewer on a journey and bring feelings of warmth and contentment.
This piece was painted by the artist using professional watercolour grade paints on Arches cold pressed 300 gsm paper. The artist only uses light-fast supplies of the highest standard to ensure the piece retains its vibrancy and quality.
