Grey Day by Rochelle Toomey
Original watercolour painting - (unframed)
I was motivated to paint this painting from a photo I discovered taken by photographer, Joakim Eskildsen, in 1986 (painted with Joakim's permission). Please follow this link to Joakim's website at https://joakimeskildsen.com/ to view his amazing work. The photo was taken from a gorgeous landscape scene in Denmark in 1986 and was one of Joakim's first pictures. He is a renowned photographer.
Currently, I am focused on painting some gorgeous, moody landscapes in my current work. I am strongly influenced by places and landscapes that are peaceful, melancholy and evoke a feeling of home to me. Farm landscapes are always so charming and make the perfect focal points of my paintings. I hope you enjoy this piece. The scene is painted in Rochelle's unique watercolour style.
The artist often takes inspiration from architecture, nature and landscapes that take the viewer on a journey and bring feelings of warmth and contentment.
