This painting was inspired (as nearly always) by starting with a sketch from my memory or imagination. I dream of the countryside, of peace and quiet. I hope it evokes thr same feelings for you. It was painted wholly in watercolour paint and evolved on the paper, such is the joy of this medium. Enjoy.
Currently, I am focused on painting some gorgeous, landscapes in my current work. I am strongly influenced by places and landscapes that are peaceful, melancholy and evoke a feeling of home to me. Townscapes are always so charming and make the perfect focal points of my paintings. I hope you enjoy this piece. The scene is painted in Rochelle's unique watercolour style.
