From my "Outback Impressions" exhibition this painting is of the amazing river gums that line the banks of Menindee Lakes. I was there in July when the Darling River was flooding stranding these majestic giants on their own islands.
This site is where Bourke & Wills established their main supplies camp before pushing north towards Cooper Creek.
