This whimsical still life painting depicts two beautiful hydrangeas and wisteria leaves from my garden, together with an interesting broken shell found by my daughter on one of our many walks along Ocean Grove beach.

I wanted to capture the beauty of the flowers and unique vessels, while bathed in soft light atop of my own original tiny mermaids fabric - the curves and folds of the fabric reminiscent of the ripples on the ocean and its charming and mysterious inhabitants.

This piece received a "Highly Commended" at the Camberwell Art Show 23.
