Artwork Description

Jap World depicts the iconic car wrecker 'Jap World Spares' on the St Peter stretch of Sydney's Princes Highway. This suburban portrait is a homage to a fading era of Australian culture, as the delicate lettering and bold colours of traditional shopfronts continue to disappear.

Artist Bio

Rosa Griffith is a 21-year-old painter based in Sydney, Australia. Rosa’s paintings invoke a sense of nostalgia in their thematic depictions of suburbia, family narratives, and coastal-scapes. She studies traditional realism art at Julian Ashton Art School, one of Australia's most culturally significant art institutions.
