Rosalie spent her childhood on a rural property in the South-East of South Australia, where she developed a deep love of nature which has endured, encompassing all aspects of our natural environment.
In her art she endeavours to re-create examples of the beauty and variety of nature, bringing her paintings to life by creating a 3D illusion through a 2D medium. Using mainly her own photography, she uses light and shade, and vibrant colour to showcase the beauty of her subject.
Rosalie has always had a creative spirit, enjoying many forms of art and craft, however, it was not until 2017 that she began to paint, initially with acrylics on canvas, after completing a "Blooms" workshop in Kapunda, SA, under the tuition of artist Jacqueline Coates. She is currently also exploring watercolour and oil painting through a variety of courses held at Splashout Art Studios, in Marino, SA.
Rosalie has also travelled to France to spend time following the path of the impressionists and gain inspiration from such places as Monet's garden in Giverny, and she has also visited the magnificent Butchart Gardens in Canada.
With an irresistible urge to keep learning new and different techniques, Rosalie's work continues to evolve, but always showcases an underlying love and respect for the wonders and beauty of nature.
