Rose Ricketts is a Brisbane based watercolour artist. She loves the transparency and luminosity of the medium and aspires to capture the light and the mood of her subject in an impressionalistic style.
Rose is passionate about painting scenes inspired local landscapes. She hopes to convey her love of nature and her free spirit in her loose style paintings.
Rose attends regular workshops and classes to improve her watercolour skills and techniques. She has recently attended classes with Alvaro Castagnet, Herman Pekel and John Lovett.
Rose uses the highest quality supplies. She uses only highly pigmented lightfast proffesional watercolours, uses acid free, 100 % cotton and 300gsm watercolour paper. (Saunders Waterford or Arches)
Rose is currently a primary school teacher and spent years living in the United States and Japan. She enjoys spending time with her family swimming at beach, sailing or hiking in the mountains and travel.
