This work was inspired by a potted arrangement by Melissa King, Horticulturist I thought they looked stunning and contacted Melissa requesting her permission to create my own version of her arrangement. She readily agreed and was thrilled that her work inspired me. For the painting I took the plants out of the pot and put them in the โgardenโ, adding a few more plants and a couple of garden pests. In winter everything goes to sleep and there are forgotten spots in the garden which burst back to life as Spring arrives. A quick walk around the garden reveals surprises and reminders of those forgotten plants. When complete I showed Melissa and she was thrilled with the painting. Again I would like to thank Melissa for permission to use her potted creation for my inspiration.
