Artwork Description

with my family. I left Japan in the mid 80s so obviously a lot had changed. But customs and the kindness of people remained. And along with an array of modern architecture, the traditional still prevailed. Shooting on film gave me a sense of nostalgia and the fact I like to challenge myself with just the one shot of any subject makes it sweeter when the images turn out better than expected.

This is the famous bullet train. With our Japan Rail Pass, we could travel unlimited on these trains known as shinkansen. Always on time, clean, quiet and fast.

This image is a part of a series of work entitled Konnichiwa I exhibited in early 2020.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an A4 size print but has an approximate 1-2cm border around the original image
