Hello!
My name is Roslyn but most everyone calls me Rose
I have been working the art materials all my life, in various manners - lately I have been painting small, affordable 20x20 canvases in acrylic and other mixed media
I studied film, printmaking and sculpture at Sydney College of the Yarts back in the late 80s and early 90s, exhibiting around Sydney and Melbourne.
I am a published cartoonist and illustrator and have worked in the realms of community arts production and art therapy with vulnerable folk
My art has traveled from dark, monochromatic, moody printing to splashy large scale explosions of glitter, to multigenerational theatre pieces, to contained sweetness and nostalgia - I love it all.
I live in a 130 year old pise (rammed earth) farm house - it used to be the main house on a huge tobacco plantation in rural central Victoria - it has a roof full of possums, an atrium where randy budgies breed relentlessly, and a yard wild with native trees and vegies, alpacas, chooks and rabbits. Inside lives me, my filmmaker fella, and our dog and cat.
I sometimes refer to myself (and others) as a 'very talented scientist' despite not completing any of the science degrees I have started.
