Rosemarie Garutti has been creating works of art in one form or another from a very young age. She studied art through correspondence for a number of years. She also studied oil painting at the Ruth Hiener School of Fine Art for five years and participated successfully in many of their exhibitions.
She now conducts oil painting classes in her home town and has had very successful exhibitions with her students. She has won a 1st prize for Oil Painting Award and many highly commended at the art awards at Perc Tucker reginal Gallery in Townsville.
Rosemarie paints primarily in oil paints and landscapes, seascapes and still life are her subject matter. At present she exhibits at Splatter Gallery, in Canberra and with two online galleries. She also has a instagram art page "rosemarie-garutti-artist.
She enjoys the out doors but prefer to paint in her studio. Dramatic play with light and colour is a key characteristic of her paintings. Painting has seen her through many of life's pitfalls, as it is a great form of meditation. She has donated many paintings to the Cancer Fund over the years and she is herself a Breast Cancer survivor.
