Artwork Description

This colourful and detailed creation was painted intuitively in a busy abstract style.

Starting with a dark base followed by many layers of paint and ink application, scraping back, until the hint of an animal's body began to show itself to me.

I developed my wombat further before I added additional layers of foliage and details to create a world for him to hide within.

The layers of detail provide depth, texture and visual delight.

Unfortunately I missed taking a picture of one of her painted edges therefore unable to include an example of her edges in my artwork photos for which I apologise. As Wombat Hideaway is securely packaged ready for transport providing one is a little difficult.

Wombat Hideaway varnished for protection and accompanied by Letter of Authenticity.

Please check dimensions as in situ artwork photos are for display purposes only and may not be to scale.

Rosemary’s artistic journey is a delightful adventure that showcases the power of creativity. From a young age, she found joy in artistic pursuits, but it wasn’t until her retirement, amid the quiet of countless cover lockdowns, that she truly reconnected with her passion for art.

With an eclectic style that celebrates whimsy, Rosemary’s paintings are a vibrant reflection of her playful spirit. Rather than sticking to a rigid plan, she lets her creativity flow, allowing each piece to reveal itself organically. As she layers colors and textures, her work takes on a life of its own, resulting in captivating pieces that invite viewers into her imaginative world.

Originally working solely with acrylics on canvas, Rosemary has since embraced an exciting variety of materials. Now, her mixed media artworks bring together paint, ink, soft pastels, oil sticks, and collage, transforming her creations into multidimensional expressions of her vision.
