I grew up in Sheffield, England and as a child was rarely found without either a book or a paintbrush in hand. All I ever wanted to do was paint and teach, however circumstances were such that I became a nurse instead! I arrived In Australia in 1980 with my husband and 11 week old son and was immediately enchanted by the Australian light as well as the vastness of the country. I painted intermittently, then for 20 years rarely if ever, lifted a brush. Five years ago I began painting in earnest and now that is my main occupation. I love to share the little I know with others and encourage them in their own journey. I have no formal training in art or teaching and have got here by the scenic route! I like to try new mediums and am presently engrossed in encaustic art, loving the tactile nature of this ancient medium.
