Original Artwork by Roslyn Dixon
As a member of the Indigenous Art Code Bluethumb is proud to have established direct partnerships with some of Australia's most respected First Nation's artists and art centres.
This painting depicts designs connected with the sacred site of Karrinyarra, to the north of Papunya. This is a Kapi Tjukurrpa (Water Dreaming) and Yalka Tjukurrpa (Bush Onion) place. This is a place where the women collect yalka. This shows the people looking for yalka.
Roselyn was born in Alice Springs and came to Papunya. Roselyn attended Papunya school and Yarara college. She has worked for World Vision in papunya and used to paint for Warrumpi Arts. Roselyn married Watson Corby and had four children. Roselyn has also painted at Yundamu and her work was bought by Walkabout and Birrung Gallery-World Vision.
Artwork: Yalka - 518-18
