Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
History and beauty abound when travelling to Europe and this trip was no exception. In Madrid, Spain, I came across this simple, but beautiful fountain. But it was the shadows cast by the trees around it that really captured my attention. With my love of painting water of all kinds, this was just another challenge to work through. In watercolour, painting random whites (spray) against a dark background is quite tricky. This requires a technique called dry-brush, which is one of the most effective in this situation. I like my watercolours to stay fresh and under-worked and I believe that I succeeded with this one.
This painting is an original artwork, matted (ready for a frame with glass) and in an acid-free Krystal seal bag for transport protection.
