A connection between two characters has been a constant source of inspiration. Whether it is a person, a creature or an object.
As a tonal realist painter I am always searching for new ways to experiment with light and make it a feature within my compositions. My recent experience as children's book illustrator has allowed me to play with imaginative characters, composition and visual narratives. It is nice to be able to apply this experience into my personal artworks too.
The aim of the narrative in this piece was to make the light become a source of companionship. The story follows the journey of a robot and a light globe as they wander about the darkness.
