Artwork Description

This is one of a series of three paintings done in response to the devastating bushfires in Eastern Australia late 2019 and early 2020. It is meant to symbolise hope for the future and show how burnt bushland can regenerate after bushfires. It is done on high quality watercolour paper and surrounded by a cardboard mount then framed with a limed wooden frame.

Artist Bio

Over the years I’ve experimented with all media - oils, acrylic, pastels (chalk and oil), watercolour, mixed media, collage, as well as various inks, pens and markers. Currently I’m favouring acrylic and watercolour.

As I’m based on the Northern Beaches most of my artworks, with few exceptions, are exhibited in that area.

Recently I’ve become interested in Urban Sketching. Until recently I only painted natural scenes. Now I’m enjoying the challenge of painting buildings and people .

I’ve travelled around Australia and other countries. Ive spent time painting in France and Italy and sketched in many other places. I enjoy the experience of mingling with people of different cultures.

Having participated in many exhibitions I’m now looking to the internet to reach a wider audience..
