Artwork Description

“Pencil anyone? is a quiet homage to the days when music lived in tape decks, pencil rewinds, handwritten labels, and the small rituals that made things feel more human. With its worn surfaces and sunlit nostalgia, the work evokes the warmth of analogue memory — imperfect, intimate, and deeply familiar.

Layered in soft ochres and aged tones, the painting holds the beauty of something once ordinary, now almost treasured. It speaks to a time when we listened slower, kept things longer, and found meaning in the touch of real objects.

Original artwork. Ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Russell Miranda, who goes by the moniker Midnight Ink, is a contemporary artist and graphic designer whose work bridges illustration, fine art, and graphic design. With a background in professional design, his practice blends visual storytelling with strong compositional clarity, creating artworks that are both expressive and accessible.

Influenced by masters such as Michelangelo and Rembrandt, alongside modern icons including Mario Miranda, Storm Thorgerson, and Jack Vettriano, his work reflects a fusion of classical technique and contemporary aesthetics. The spontaneity of Keith Haring and M. F. Husain, combined with the versatility of Laki Senanayake, informs his distinctive visual style.

Working across styles and themes, Russell’s portfolio features original paintings and artworks that explore colour, form, and narrative. His pieces range from bold and graphic to subtle and atmospheric, appealing to collectors of modern art, abstract art, and the eclectic.

Brand new to BlueThumb, his growing collection showcases an evolving body of contemporary artwork designed to resonate with a wide audience. Each piece invites interpretation and emotional connection, making his work suitable for both private collectors and curated spaces.
