When I was a child it was the crashing waves that lulled me to sleep and the salty rotting kelp that I smelt when the wind was in a certain corner. Fridays we would get fish and chips and the seagulls would jostle eachother for prime position.
I foresee a theme of seascapes and gulls on the horizon as I really enjoyed the memories triggered while painting this piece.
I must also mention that this painting was inspired greatly from a photo taken by Janice Churchward, she is an incredible artist in her own right and I appreciate how freely she shares the artistic photos she captures.
