Ruth began painting when working as a high school teacher in East Africa. She was inspired by the beauty of the mountains and wildlife parks.
She came to Australia in 1970 and in between TAFE teaching and raising her family managed to complete a Fine Arts Certificate majoring in print-making and photography.
She paints with acrylics and enjoys painting flowers, birds, landscapes and seascapes. She has joined the Shellharbour City Arts Society in 2022, at the age of 76, and has enjoyed the friendship and encouragement of the members. She hopes that people will enjoy her paintings
