Artwork Description

The human body in the absence of a face is telling many stories. The body's anatomical forms in different positions harness properties of light and shadow along the body’s contours to inspire new meanings and allusions to humanity. The body without the face, particularly without the eyes, expresses itself in a much simpler and deeper language. Different postures, from the hands to the angles of the head, combined with highlights and shadows cast by lighting convey a distinct feeling. These highlights and shadows blend into the minimal background, expressing their unique beauty.

Artist Bio

Saeed Sourati is a self-educated fine art photographer based in Sydney. He bought his first camera Canon AE-1 in 1998 and started learning photography. He spent almost two years practising and testing different poses until he discovered surrealism and dreams. Being a self-taught photographer and having a filmmaking background has given him the wings to be boundless in the way he dreams and creates a moment to photograph to make the audience think about the subject and its philosophy—a timeless photographic art with a short story inside to discover. He is primarily a commercial photographer.
Abstract, Minimal, Surreal, every kind of style could be his photographic style but has to be related to dreams and fashionable and thoughtfully.
