This photo is almost monochrome. Black. White and brown. Capturing a human body in between three rocks. One that is neither asleep nor awake, but one that is perhaps lost in an unusual dream. Here black represents the lack of context.
In contrast, the pair of hands serve the purpose of a face. There are three white rocks: one supporting the body while the other weighs down on him with an unbearable heaviness. The third rock simply introduces a dimension to the time and place.
This photo's main inspiration is a dream I had years ago on a winter day. The black backdrop and the dark brown that makes up most of the image create a sense of heaviness and restriction. In addition, the three white rocks provide the impression that they are lighter than they are in real life. These two opposing forces create the fallacy in one’s mind that the human body, regardless of the time and place in which it exists, is heavier in weight than the rocks that have trapped it/ placed it in a state of siege
