This is a surrealistic photograph which is captured in my studio and I didn't have any effect or photoshop on it.
To me, a piece of art has to have something to discover and think about. Before I planned this photograph I was thinking about the human body, hands, head and mirror for a long time and started to build a surrealistic idea as a photograph in my head. I named them the Mirror stage which is a concept in the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan.
These are conversation starters, so great to have in your living room, or office. They have been named to reflect what its inside and where you can start to think about it.
Hands, as a symbol and as a tool. As an organ of performance, it serves as eyes for the blind, the mute talk with it, and it has become a symbol of salutation, supplication, and condemnation. The hand is the most frequently symbolized part of the human body.
Head, in antiquity and dreams the head-body metaphor was a common way to explain relationships within a whole and maybe symbols of existence. And the mirror in my idea and inspiration is a psychological sense, mirrors symbolize the threshold between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. By looking into a mirror, one may look towards the depths of their unconsciousness.
