Reflections Of The Waiting Dawn

My inspiration for 'Reflections..' was to create a somewhat dream place where time stands still and you can be completely present in that moment. The space you make between one thought and the next.
The shift of consciousness when thinking and awareness are separate.
The state of being present.
Only a reflection of yesterday remains.
The waiting dawn brings resolve to what can’t be changed but can be accepted.
With resolve there is strength in being completely present.

Sallie paints in the style of abstract expressionism to put her thoughts, raw emotion, fears and dreams onto the canvas.
Sallie draws inspiration from her personal experience living with mental illness and her empathetic sensitivities to create her works. Each piece is unique and tells its own story.

“The ability to create is empowering. Painting connects me to the feelings that are too complex for words to suffice. A part of me, my thoughts, my identity, is imprinted on the canvas.”

Sallie resides in Blackburn on Wurundjeri land with her husband, two teenage sons, and her menagerie of fur and feathered babies.
