Seraphina I

Seraphina means fiery one or bunting one.
Inspired by interstellar medium and nebula, I visualised the gravitational pull of strong human emotions towards each other and the dense formation of emotional overload it creates.
Like its nebula inspiration, stars are born from this, so too, you can grow stronger and emerge from these turbulent times. And maybe just a little more fiery too!

Sallie paints in the style of abstract expressionism to put her thoughts, raw emotion, fears and dreams onto the canvas.
Sallie draws inspiration from her personal experience living with mental illness and her empathetic sensitivities to create her works. Each piece is unique and tells its own story.

“The ability to create is empowering. Painting connects me to the feelings that are too complex for words to suffice. A part of me, my thoughts, my identity, is imprinted on the canvas.”

Sallie resides in Blackburn on Wurundjeri land with her husband, two teenage sons, and her menagerie of fur and feathered babies.
