Artwork Description

The lotus is sacred in many cultures; the pink lotus symbolizes enlightenment, and the purple lotus symbolizes balance and harmony.

This lotus is located in the Botanical Gardens of Adelaide. Textured brushstrokes of the lotus flower are the focus of this painting. Bright highlights illuminate the inner centre of the lotus flower. The flower rests against a teal, blue water background. Specks of Gold Leaf are used for the lotus flowers reflection in the water.

Thick, expressive paint layers create a layered tactile, textured surface.
